born from a family of antique dealers, benedetto quaquaro graduated in architecture in genoa, with a focus on yacht design. he was project manager at cpt – centro progettazione tecno – where he collaborated with important designers like norman foster, emilio ambasz, gae aulenti, j.m. wilmotte. later on he was in charge of abv, home furniture brand of tecno, and developed a furniture collection based on the concepts of international artists such as getulio alviani, agenore fabbri, bruno munari, arnaldo pomodoro. in the middle of the ‘90s he developed his interest in architecture and set up a new studio based in santa margherita ligure, focusing mainly on restoration. in 2001, he founded archiworkshop, a studio involved in architectural projects, interior and space planning, left in 2010. in 2009 he took the decision to return to design, starting a collaboration with cerruti baleri. he collaborated with the magazine arca international and politecnico di milano. today he is teaching design and communication at the faculty of architecture of the university of genoa.
